Managing a screen share session

Handling an active screen share session

Once you start sharing your screen, Bria shows the screen share panel below.

From this panel, you can temporarily pause screen share, switch the screen to share, invite more people and end screen share.

To temporarily pause screen sharing

You can stop sharing your screen without ending the screen share session.

1. Click Pause Screen Sharing.

The "Pause Screen Sharing" button is on the "Screen Share" window.

UniTel Voice stops sharing your screen until your resume or end the screen share session.

When screen share is paused or stopped, there is no page displayed to the viewers; the last video frame is shown instead, as HD screen share uses a video feed.

To resume sharing your screen

1. Click Resume Screen Sharing.

The "Resume Screen Sharing" button is on the "Screen Share" window.

UniTel Voice starts sharing your screen again.

To switch the screen to share

You can switch what to share during an active screen share. The screen that you are sharing displays a red bounding box around it.

1. Click Show Screen-share window. The window opens.

2. Choose a monitor or application to share, and click Start Sharing. To choose an application, click the Windows tab and make sure the application you want to share is launched and not minimized to the task bar.

To invite more participants

During an active screen share, you can invite more people to join your session by using Participants +, or by copying the link and sending it to the invitee with any communication tool.

To invite your team members, use any of the following. To invite someone outside of your Bria, send a copied link with any communication tool that you use to contact the person.

1. Click Show Screen-share window. The window opens.

2. Click Participants + on the right.

3. Type the name of a contact you want to invite.

4. Click the contact from the contact list.

5. Repeat the process for all contacts you want to invite.

UniTel Voice sends IMs to the contacts you selected. The contacts can click on the link in the IM to join the screen share.

To end screen share

1. Click Stop screen sharing.

The following icons appear in the screen share toolbar:

Pause Screen Sharing: Temporarily stops sharing your screen without ending the screen share session.

Resume Screen Sharing: Starts sharing you screen after you have paused it during the screen share session.

Show Screen-share window: Opens the Screen Share Options window. From here. you can select a screen to share, invite people to view your screen, see who has been invited but not joined yet, and copy the screen share link to the clipboard. 

Stop screen sharing: End the screen sharing session.


Managing your screen share link

The screen share link is unique to you. The same link will be used until you generate a new link. This allows you to send the link for recurring sessions.

Sometimes you will want to share your screen with a person one time — a customer in another organization — and you may not want them to be able to join in future sessions. In this case, you can generate a new link when

To generate a new screen share link

1. Click Start sharing your screen in the on screen softphone.

The "Start sharing your screen" button is on the onscreen phone.

2. Click Generate a new screen share link.

UniTel Voice creates a new link. The old link no longer lets people view your screen share.

To copy the current screen share link

1. Click Start sharing your screen in the on screen softphone.

The "Start sharing your screen" button is on the onscreen phone.

2. Click Copy Screen Share link to clipboard.

3. Paste the link to an application of your choice, such as email or calendar invite.
