Setup #3: How To Simply Forward Calls To A Phone Number(s)

Whether you're running a small business or managing a large team, we recommend using the Auto Attendant Setup for the best caller experience. This setup uses greetings and extensions to give your business a professional image. Unitel Voice also offers two convenient call forwarding options: the recommended 3-step process through Extension 0 for a professional workflow, and a direct call routing option to forward calls straight to a desired phone number.

In this guide, we’ll show you how to forward your Unitel Voice number directly to one or multiple phone numbers.

This Simple Call Forwarding Setup has 3 steps:

  1. Forward Your Unitel Voice Number to Department Extension 0

  2. Forward Extension 0 to Phone Number(s)

  3. Change Your Music On-Hold to “Ringtone”


Step 1: Forward Your Unitel Voice Number to Department Extension 0

1. Log into your Unitel Voice account and go to Settings, then select Your Numbers.

2. Click Edit

3. Under the Forwarding Options, select Transfer to Extension.

4. Choose Extension 0 from the list and click Save. This step also allows you to bypass the main greeting and forward calls directly to Extension 0, ensuring quicker connection times for callers.


Step 2: Forward Extension 0 to Phone Number(s)

1. Now, go to the Extensions section and click Edit on Department Extension 0.

2. In the General Information section, find the Voicemail toggle and set it to OFF. (This step is optional. If you want to use voicemail, leave it ON and set it up following these steps).

3. Scroll to Forwarding Extensions & Numbers. You'll see Extension 0 is currently forwarding to the number you entered at signup. If you want to change this number, click Edit.

4. Under Forwarding Number, select Number, and a new field will appear where you can enter your desired phone number.

5. Adjust the Ring Duration to 60 seconds and click Save. (If you're using voicemail, leave the ring duration set to 15 seconds).

6. Click Save again to apply the changes to the extension.

7. To add more numbers, repeat the steps above. You can also reorder the list and choose how to forward calls to the list.


Step 3: Change Your Music On-Hold to “Ringtone”

1. Go to Settings and select Music On-Hold.

2. From the drop-down menu, choose Ringtone and click Save.
