Your Unitel Voice phone system allows you to create custom greetings to ensure a professional caller experience. There are three types of greetings you can set up:
- Main Greeting – The first message your callers hear when they reach your system.
- After-Hours Greeting – Plays when calls are received outside business hours.
- Voicemail Greetings – Custom messages for when callers reach an unavailable extension.
Watch the video below for a quick overview of how to set up and use your greetings.
Steps to Set Up Your Greetings
- Log into Your Unitel Voice Account: Start by logging into your Unitel Voice account at Unitel Voice Login.
- Navigate to the Greetings Section: Once logged in, go to Settings → Greetings to manage and record your greetings.
- Set Up Your Main Greeting: The Main Greeting is the first thing callers hear when they reach your system. Use this greeting to welcome callers and provide call routing options (e.g., "Press 1 for Sales, Press 2 for Support"). You can record your greeting directly in the system or upload a pre-recorded audio file (.mp3 or .wav).
- Create an After-Hours Greeting: The After-Hours Greeting plays when calls come in outside of business hours. Use this message to inform callers of your hours, alternative contact options, or voicemail instructions.
- Set Up Voicemail Greetings: Each Employee and Department Extension can have a custom voicemail greeting. These greetings play when a call is unanswered or when calls go straight to voicemail.
- Special Note: Voicemail greetings are managed in the Extensions section, NOT in Settings → Greetings.
- Upload or Record Your Greetings: You can either record greetings directly in the system or upload pre-recorded files. File Format Requirements: Ensure your files are in .mp3 or .wav format and meet the size limits.
- To learn more about the types of audio formats supported, refer to What Is the Maximum File Size for My Greeting?
- Preview and Save Your Greetings: Before finalizing, preview each greeting to ensure it sounds correct. Click Save to apply your changes.
- Test Your Greetings: Make a test call to ensure your Main, After-Hours, and Voicemail Greetings play as expected.
