How to set up a Voicemail Greeting

Watch a quick video on how greetings work in our system here.

Voicemail Greetings are the recordings callers hear before they leave a voicemail message. Each Department and Employee Extension has its own Voicemail Box, and you have the ability to customize the Voicemail Greeting for each Extension’s Voicemail.

For example, your Sales Department voicemail greeting might say, "Thank you for calling ABC Company’s Customer Service Department. We’re sorry, but all representatives are currently assisting other callers. Please leave your name, number, and a brief message, and the first available representative will return your call.”

An Employee Extension's Voicemail might say, "You’ve reached the desk of Jake Peralta. I’m sorry I’m not available to take your call. Please leave your name, number, and a brief message, and I’ll return your call as soon as possible.”

You can set up an extension's Voicemail Greeting in 3 simple steps:

1. Navigate to "Extensions" and choose "Edit" on the department or employee extension on which you would like to add a voicemail greeting. The settings menu will open.

2. Go to the "Voicemail Greeting" menu. Here, you can select the "Add your own greeting" button.

3. You'll be given the option to upload an MP3 File or Record using your computer or device's microphone. Once you have the recording saved to the list, make sure it is selected as the active greeting.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Apple / iOS devices prevent recording through your browser. Other options for recording may be found here.
