Managing Phone Number Settings

A list of your phone numbers can be found under "Settings" > "Your Numbers". Here you can manage a phone number's settings and add new numbers to your account. 

Editing Number Settings

To adjust a number's settings select "Edit" on the number. 

A settings menu will appear. Here you can manage a variety of settings.

Forwarding Options

Play My Main Greeting: when someone calls your UniTel Voice phone number, they will be directed to your main greeting.

Transfer to Extension: when someone calls your UniTel Voice phone number, they will be directed to the extension of your choosing. That can be either a department or employee extension.

Caller ID Display

Caller's Number: when you receive a call directly to your mobile device (not your mobile app), your caller ID will display the caller's phone number.

Virtual Office Number: when you receive a call directly to your mobile device (not your mobile app), your caller ID will display your UniTel Voice virtual office number.

A helpful tip: many people add their UniTel Voice virtual office number to their contacts to further clarify that it is a business call.

Notification Action

Copy (default) - This is the preferred value and enabled by default.   Inbound fax will be converted to PDF and emailed to the "Notification Email". A copy of the PDF will be stored in your Inbox for 60 days.

NONE - Inbound Faxes will not be saved or forwarded to your Notification Email. 

Forward - Inbound fax will be converted to PDF and emailed to the "Notification Email", then deleted from the system. No copy is saved in your Inbox.

Notify - Inbound fax will be converted to a PDF and stored in your Inbox. A notification email will be sent but the document will not be included as a PDF attachment.

Notification Email

The email that fax notifications will be sent to, in whichever format was selected above.

"Other Options" Dropdown

Time Zone

The time zone in which you or your business is primarily located. Used to keep accurate call logs and maintain after hours greeting timing.

Music on Hold

You have the option of choosing from our selection of music or uploading/recording your own on-hold music/greeting. You also have the option to disable the music on hold.

*It may take up to 2 minutes for your changes to complete in the system after saving.

Tag

A Number tag is a description that can be assigned to each of your UniTel Voice Numbers. More details on tags can be found here
